Season 1 of the Disney+ Original series “The Santa Clauses” premiered last holiday season on the streaming service and Disney announced that a second season was on the way following the first series finale.
Read on below for everything we know about “The Santa Clauses” Season 2.
“The Santa Clauses” Season 2 Release Date
Disney has not officially announced a release date yet for Season 2 of “The Santa Clauses.”
Tim Allen announced on social media last April that they had finished filming the second season. This suggests that season 2 might debut around the holidays, probably in November 2023.
However, the ongoing Hollywood strikes make the situation uncertain. If the strike continues, Disney might have to delay movies and shows to prevent content gaps next year. As a result, “The Santa Clauses” season 2 might not debut until November 2024, but that seems unlikely.
Currently, we anticipate the release of “The Santa Clauses” season 2 on Disney+ in November 2023.
We will update this article when an official release date is announced by Disney.
UPDATE 9/21/23 – Season two of the Disney+ Original series, “The Santa Clauses,” from Disney Branded Television and 20th Television, will debut with a two-episode premiere on Wednesday, November 8, followed by new episodes weekly.
“The Santa Clauses” Season 2 Plot
In the second season, the Calvin family is back in the North Pole as Scott Calvin continues his role as Santa Claus after retirement plans were thwarted when failing to find a worthy successor in season one. Now that Scott and his family have successfully saved Christmas, Scott turns his focus towards training his son Calvin to eventually take over the “family business” as Santa Claus.
“The Santa Clauses” Season 2 Cast
Disney Legend Tim Allen will executive produce and continue to reprise the beloved role of Santa/Scott Calvin. Also returning as series regulars in season two are Elizabeth Mitchell as Mrs. Claus/Carol, Elizabeth Allen-Dick as Sandra Calvin Claus, Austin Kane as Cal Calvin Claus, and Devin Bright as Santa’s elf bestie Noel. Matilda Lawler will reprise her role of Santa’s chief of staff, Betty, as a recurring guest star. Additional guest stars include newcomer Marta Kessler as Olga, a surly, take-no-prisoners gnome who doesn’t understand “feelings” and “empathy” and sidekick to Magnus Antas, aka The Mad Santa, along with returning guest stars Liam Kyle as Gary, Isabella Bennett as Edie, Sasha Knight as Crouton, Ruby Jay as Riley, Mia Lynn Bangunan as Pontoon, and Laura San Giacomo as La Befana, the Christmas Witch.
It was recently announced Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias will join as a series regular. According to Deadline, Iglesias will play Kris Kringle, the owner and operator of a Christmas-themed amusement park called Santaland. Sweet, happy, and perpetually-optimistic, Kris is a warm, generous soul who is determined to keep his struggling theme park afloat. However, his belief in Santa and love for all things Christmas may not be enough.
Additionally, Eric Stonestreet stars as Magnus Antas (aka the Mad Santa), who reigned during the 14th century and is now returning to try and take down Scott Calvin and reclaim the North Pole. Tracey Morgan is set to join the cast for the second season, suggesting he will portray the Easter Bunny in a cameo appearance.
