Lyric Ross (This Is Us) is set for a key role in Marvel’s upcoming “Ironheart” series coming to Disney+.
Not much is known about the new “Ironheart” series but the show will feature Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Marvel’s Ironheart character follows Riri Williams, a 15-year old engineering genius attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Riri builds a suit based on Iron Man’s armor and takes up the name Ironheart. The character has appeared in some Marvel animated series including Spider-Man: Maximum Venom and Marvel Rising.
THR reports that Ross will play Williams’ best friend.
Anthony Ramos (The Heights, Hamilton) is also set for a key role in the series and could be the show’s villain.
A director or additional cast has not been revealed yet however Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer) will serve as head writer for the series.
Ross’ previous TV credits include This Is Us, Sirens and Chicago Fire.
Filming on the series will reportedly begin in June in Atlanta. A Disney+ release date has not been announced yet for “Ironheart.”
