Anne Fletcher replaced Adam Shankman as director in “Hocus Pocus 2” last month due to scheduling conflicts between the two films which are filming this summer.
Disney has not officially announced the cast for the film however, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will reprise their roles as The Sanderson Sisters in the sequel. The script has been written by Jen D’Angelo (Workaholics).
While we await an official cast announcement from Disney (which could possibly happen this week) and release date, it looks like “Hocus Pocus 2” will at least arrive on Disney+ in 2022 according to Birch’s tweet – most likely ahead of Halloween.
Hocus Pocus 2 is currently scheduled to begin filming this Summer in Salem and other areas in Massachusetts.
