Tim Allen’s Daughter and More Join Disney+ ‘The Santa Clause’ Limited Series

Tim Allen’s daughter Elizabeth Allen-Dick has been cast as a series regular in the upcoming Disney+ Original limited series based on The Santa Clause films.  She will be playing her dad’s on-screen daughter.

The new series was announced in January with Tim Allen reprising the beloved role of Scott Calvin and Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost) returning as Carol a.k.a. Mrs. Claus. Also joining “The Santa Clause” (working title) as series regulars are Kal Penn, Austin Kane, Rupali Redd and Devin Bright.

Tim Allen will also executive-produce the series.  Allen starred in all three original films.  Mitchell first appeared as Carol in the 2002 film The Santa Clause 2 and also again in 2006 for The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.

In the Disney+ series, Scott Calvin is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the Pole.  With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole.

According to Deadline, Allen-Dick makes her acting debut as Sandra, the youngest child of Scott Calvin (Allen) and Carol (Mitchell). Sandra is a bit rough and tumble, has a passionate sense of right and wrong, and a strong connection to animals, mostly because there are no humans her age at the North Pole, which makes her lonely.

Kane appears as Cal, the older son of Scott Calvin and his wife Carol. Cal lacks drive and focus, isn’t sure what he wants but knows it’s not at the North Pole, and appears ill-equipped to survive in either world, although that might be slowly changing.

Newcomer Redd will play Grace. Sweet, loving, and kind, Grace is angelic daughter of game inventor and product developer, Simon Choksi (Penn). Her wide-eyed belief in Santa, and her love for all things Christmas, could melt the heart of even the biggest non believer.

Bright takes on Noel, Santa’s trusted right-hand elf. Optimistic and energetic, Noel perceives himself as Santa’s best friend.

Jason Winer (The Big Leap) has been tapped as director and executive producer.

Production on “The Santa Clause” is set to begin soon in Los Angeles. Award-winning Jack Burditt (“30 Rock,” “Modern Family,” “Frasier,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”) is the executive producer and showrunner and Kevin Hench (“Last Man Standing”), Jon Radler, Richard Baker and Rick Messina will also serve as executive producers.

The Disney Branded Television series is a production of 20th Television.

Kane’s credits include Two and a Half Men, Bizaardvark, Criminal Minds, Sam & Cat, Lethal Weapon, Family Reunion, Henry Danger and Godless.

Redd’s credits include Hulu’s Bear Girl.

Bright’s credits include The Unicorn, Hap and Leonard, Misfits and Monsters and Underground.
