Disney announced that Marvel’s “Loki” series would return to Disney+ for a second season last July and looks like filming will begin very soon on the next season.
Recently, “Loki” star Tom Hiddleston revealed filming will begin in about six weeks during an interview with The Playlist. You can see what Hiddleston said below:
“We’re in it already. I mean, we’re not filming, but we’re in prep, but we start in like six weeks or something. So we’re in full steam ahead in terms of a script and story and it’s really exciting. Yeah, I can’t say too much, but lots of questions to be answered.”
Season 1 of Marvel Studios’ “Loki” features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.
Tom Hiddleston is set to return as Loki. Owen Wilson, who played Mobius in the first season of “Loki,” recently confirmed that his character would be returning for the second season. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who played Ravonna Renslayer in Season 1, also recently confirmed to GMA that she will be returning.
Plot details for the second season are being kept under wraps. Eric Martin will serve as writer for all six episodes. Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have been tapped to co-direct a majority of the episodes for “Loki” Season 2. Kate Herron directed the first Season of “Loki.” Hiddleston and Michael Waldron, who wrote and served as showrunner in Season 1, will executive produce Season 2.
A release date has not been announced yet for Season 2 of “Loki,” however with filming starting soon, we could see it launch on Disney+ mid-2023.
Season 1 of “Loki” is available to stream now on Disney+.
