Several upcoming Marvel series slated for Disney+ have been on hiatus since filming had to be halted in March due to the global health crisis. WandaVision, which is one of the shows slated to be released on the streaming service later this year, may begin filming again as early as July.
Tampa Bay Comic Convention posted that Paul Bettany who plays Vision in the upcoming series had to drop out of the convention due to being called back for filming. Here is what they said on their Facebook page:
“We finally received word from Paul Bettany’s representation, and unfortunately Paul had to cancel his appearance at TBCC this year due being called back by Disney for WandaVision filming in July, in Los Angeles. We’re working on guest additions!” You can see that post below:
Post-production has been continuing since the shut down and speculation is WandaVision could still be able to hit it’s target December 2020 release date.
Set in the 1950s, WandaVision will follow the story of Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany’s superhero characters Scarlet Witch and Vision. The series blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
