Marvel Studios’ “Black Widow” movie will be coming to movie theatres and Disney+ Premier Access on July 09, 2021.
Of course, this new hybrid model is due to the global pandemic closing cinemas around the world. The movie will be priced at $29.99/£19.99 via Premier Access and will then eventually be available to regular Disney+ subscribers at no additional charge. So when exactly will “Black Widow” be free?
Black Widow Disney Plus Free Date
Disney has confirmed that Black Widow will be available to all subscribers at no additional cost on October 6, 2021.
Before the pandemic, it took an average of 219 days or just over seven months from when a movie is released in theatres to arriving on Disney+. Covid, however, has completely turned this upside down. Movies such as “Frozen 2”, “Onward”, “Mulan”, and “Raya and the Last Dragon” were all added earlier than usual.
Here’s what that looks like broken down:
|Movie||Premier Access Release Date||Days Between||Regular Disney+ Access|
|Mulan||September 04, 2021||91 days||December 04, 2020|
|Raya and the Last Dragon||March 05, 2021||92 days||June 04, 2021|
|Cruella||May 28, 2021||91 days||August 27, 2021|
|Black Widow||July 09, 2021||91 days||October 06, 2021|
The above table shows us that “Mulan” debuted on Premier Access on September 04 and arrived for regular subscribers on December 04, 91 days later. “Raya and the Last Dragon” debuted on Premier Access on March 05 and is released for regular subscribers on June 04, 92 days later. “Cruella” is being released via Premier Access on May 28 and released for regular subscribers on August 27, 91 days later.
Disney has continued to follow that pattern but with a slight change. “Black Widow” is arriving on Wednesday, October 06, 2021. This is change in the usual as typically new content arrives on Disney+ on Fridays.
