The latest movie from 20th Century Studios, “Death on the Nile”, is out now in movie theatres across the globe. The film, which was released on February 11, 2022, was initially set to release on December 19, 2019, but was pushed back multiple times because of COVID-19. But when will you be able to catch “Death On The Nile” on Disney Plus?
What is “Death On The Nile” About?
“Death on the Nile” reunites the filmmaking team behind 2017’s global hit Murder on the Orient Express, and stars five-time Academy Award® nominee Kenneth Branagh as the iconic detective Hercule Poirot. He is joined by an all-star cast of suspects, including: Tom Bateman, four-time Oscar® nominee Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders and Letitia Wright.
“Death on the Nile” is written by Michael Green, adapted from Christie’s novel, and is produced by Ridley Scott, Mark Gordon, Simon Kinberg, Kenneth Branagh, Judy Hofflund and Kevin J. Walsh, with Matthew Jenkins, James Prichard and Matthew Prichard serving as executive producers.
When is Death On The Nile Coming To Disney Plus? (US)
We’ll cut right to the chase. Disney hasn’t announced if or when Death On The Nile will be coming to Disney+ in the United States. However, this is what we do know.
Disney will typically make an official announcement about a month after a movie has been released in theatres not to cannibalize ticket sales. This means that we can expect to hear some news in March potentially.
Disney doesn’t currently have a streamlined window on when movies are released on Disney+ after being in theatres. We’ve seen this timeframe dramatically decrease due to COVID, but movies can still be released anywhere from about 30 days to 90 days on Disney+.
Even though “Death On The Nile” does fall under the Disney umbrella, it must go to HBO Max due to existing contracts. This deal was created before Disney+ and is set to expire at the end of 2022. However, Disney recently signed a temporary deal WarnerMedia to share access to select titles on either Hulu or Disney+. This means that if “Death On The Nile” is one of those chosen titles under this deal, we could see the movie added after around 45 days.
UPDATE: “Death on the Nile” will release on Hulu in the United States on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. The film will also release on HBO Max the same day.
Death On The Nile Disney Plus Release Date (International)
Internationally in countries such as the UK, Canada, Australia and many others, we fully expect that Death On The Nile will be released on Disney+. Still, unfortunately, the exact date isn’t clear. We would imagine no earlier than April 2022 based on previous movies added to the streaming service.
