When is ‘The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles’ Coming To Disney Plus?

In anticipation of the upcoming Indiana Jones film, “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”, Disney+ has expanded its library to include the full Indiana Jones franchise, which includes The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

However, that doesn’t apply to all countries as the show is noticeably missing for many on Disney+. So when is The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles coming to Disney+? Read on for everything we know!

For those unfamiliar, the series follows the Indiana Jones character (as a young boy and as a young man) as he was growing up and experiencing his early adventures, where he gets into trouble, learns life lessons and encounters various historical figures along the way.

Is The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles On Disney Plus?

As of May 31, 2023, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is available for streaming on Disney+ in the United States. Unfortunately, the series has not yet been released on Disney+ for audiences outside the United States. This includes major Disney+ markets like the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, and numerous others.

When is The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles Coming To Disney Plus?

Disney has yet to announce an official Disney+ release date for The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles in territories beyond the US, which include countries such as the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, among others.

Given that The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is over 30 years old, it’s possible that Disney hasn’t yet managed to localize it for other regions. Even for primarily English-speaking countries, Disney often categorizes all non-US regions together, which might explain the delay in making the show available internationally.

Another crucial point to consider is that Disney may not hold the international distribution rights for The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. While Disney owns the rights to the new Indiana Jones films, the legacy content, including this show, is under Paramount’s control. Disney would need to secure licensing rights for the show in each individual country, a process which can be both time-consuming and costly.

Regrettably, it’s challenging to forecast when the series might become available on Disney+ for international audiences. With the release of the new Indiana Jones movie, Disney has renewed interest in the franchise. However, if the series doesn’t make it to Disney+ globally by the end of the year, there’s a chance it may never be added due to the reasons listed above.

We’ll be sure to update this article the moment any official news is confirmed by Disney.
