Will “Darby And The Dead” Be On Disney+?

“Darby And The Dead”, follows Darby Harper (Downs) who gains the ability to see dead people after suffering a near-death experience as a young girl.

In the United States, the movie is a Hulu Original and was released on December 02. But when exactly is the movie coming to Disney+?

“Darby And The Dead” Disney Plus Release Date

“Darby And The Dead” is confirmed to arrive on Disney+ in Australia and New Zealand on December 30. However, it’s unknown if the movie will be arriving on Disney+ in other regions such as Canada and the UK.

The movie is a Hulu Original and distributed by 20th Century Studios, so that’s a very good sign that it could arrive on Disney+. However, it’s unknown if Disney has the international distribution rights.

Disney hasn’t promoted the movie as coming to Disney+ in any other regions. This is an anticipated title, so it seems unusual for Disney to not make any announcements or begin a marketing push. In addition, Disney has announced everything that’s coming to Disney+ in December, and “Darby And The Dead” wasn’t included.

At this moment in time, our best guess is that “Darby And The Dead” might arrive on December 30 for other countries such as the UK and Canada as that would match Australia. But this is purely a guess. It’s possible that “Darby And The Dead” might arrive at a later time, but no announcements have been yet.

We’ll be sure to update this article if and when Disney confirms a release date for “Darby And The Dead”.

What is “Darby And The Dead” About?

After suffering a near-death experience as a young girl, Darby Harper (Downs) gains the ability to see dead people. As a result, she becomes introverted and shut off from her high school peers and prefers to spend time counseling lonely spirits who have unfinished business on earth. But all that changes when Capri (Cravalho), the Queen Bee of the school’s most exclusive clique, unexpectedly dies in a freak hair straightening accident, resulting in the obvious cancellation of her upcoming “Sweet 17.” Capri, however, pleads with Darby from the other side to intervene and convince Capri’s friends to proceed with the party as planned. In order to appease the wrath of the undead diva, Darby must emerge from her self-imposed exile and reinvent herself — which along the way allows her to find new joy back in the land of the living.
