‘Wolverine’ Anthology Series Rumoured to be in Development From Marvel Studios For Disney+

Back in March it was reported by the Illuminerdi that Marvel Studios had begun development on an X-Men movie under the title ‘The Mutants’. We haven’t heard anything else since then until today, when another rumour relating to the X-men franchise started circulating. According to That Hashtag Show, Marvel Studios is in early development on a Wolverine-centric Disney+ show.

The report claims the series will be an anthology, with the first season adapting the iconic Weapon X story, acting as his origin within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The project is in the very early stages of development, so no talent is attached in any way. That Hashtag Show believes an announcement was set to be made during this years D23 event, which has actually now been cancelled.

We’ll reiterate that this is a rumour for now so please take it with a huge grain of salt. But it does seem like a really creative approach to bringing the character of Wolverine to the MCU and a great way of exploring some of the character’s stories that have yet been explored.
